University of Health and Allied Sciences

UHAS is Ghana's dedicated health sciences university, established in 2011 in Ho, Volta Region. It was created to specifically address the country's severe shortage of healthcare professionals. UHAS is unique in that all its programmes are health-related, making it the most specialised public university in Ghana. The university has built clinical partnerships with hospitals across the Volta Region and Greater Accra for practical training. UHAS trains doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals. The School of Medicine has grown rapidly and produces doctors familiar with the health needs of underserved areas.
