University of Education, Winneba

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is Ghana's only public university established solely for teacher education and professional development. It has campuses in Winneba (main), Kumasi, and Mampong-Ashanti. UEW offers a comprehensive range of B.Ed, BSc, and BA programmes focused on training teachers for all levels of Ghana's education system. The university also runs sandwich (school vacation) and distance learning programmes for practising teachers who wish to upgrade their qualifications. UEW has produced a significant proportion of Ghana's trained teachers and educational administrators. Admission is conducted with full transparency, and the university warns against any form of fraudulent solicitation for admission.
