Family Health University (formerly Family Health University College) is a private health-focused university located in Teshie-Nungua Estate, Accra, directly opposite the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC). Founded in 1997, the institution began as a Diagnostic Centre at Korle Bu, evolved into the Family Health Hospital, and established the Nursing and Midwifery School in 2009. In 2014, the Family Health Medical School was authorised by the National Accreditation Board (now GTEC), making it Ghana's first private medical school. The institution was granted University College status in 2016 and has since received a Presidential Charter, becoming Family Health University. It now comprises a Hospital, a School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Ghana's premier private Medical School, with the on-site hospital providing students 24/7 access to hands-on clinical practice.
