Accra Technical University (ATU) is one of Ghana's oldest and most established technical education institutions. Originally founded in 1949 as Accra Technical School, it evolved into Accra Polytechnic and was converted to a full technical university in 2016 under the Technical Universities Act. ATU is located in the heart of Accra near the Kinbu area and serves thousands of students in career-focused Higher National Diploma (HND) and Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programmes. The university is organised into several schools including the School of Engineering, School of Applied Sciences, School of Business and Management Studies, and School of Applied Arts. ATU is known for producing graduates with practical, hands-on skills that are directly employable in industry.
